What Joy… Yes!
Philippians 2:17-18, Devotion #10

But even if my life is to be poured out like a drink offering to complete the sacrifice of your faithful service (that is if I am to die for you), I will rejoice, and I want to share my joy with all of you. And you should be happy about this and rejoice with me.

Father, there are so many folks in this world who don't believe in You. There are so many folks in this world that know who You are but who don't know You personally. There are way too many in this world that know You personally but don't represent You very well most of their days. There are way too many in this world that know You personally but don't think about You much as their day unfolds. There are …  couldn't that thought pattern go on and on and on?

For me, it's not what the so many folks think, believe, say or do… it's what we who really love and follow You think, say and do. Father, we live by faith and not by sight. We find great joy in being "poured out like a drink offering." We believe in You by faith. We believe the Bible is Your word by faith. And reality is, we live for You by faith. And if it comes to the end of our time and we just die and go into the ground, we truly would have done it no other way than the way we are doing it. For us, being "poured out" is a wonderful thing. And we thank You we have found our place and purpose in living that way. Father, what joy for those who call You Lord and who follow hard after You! What joy to live our lives for the sake of others! We have been given a great privilege and honor to serve You day by day. Thank You for that "faithful service" You have given us. We do "rejoice" and we do share that joy with others. Come Holy Spirit.

Thank You, Father, in Jesus name. Amen.
