Share (Our) Joy!
Philippians 2:17-18, Devotion #14

But even if my life is to be poured out like a drink offering to complete the sacrifice of your faithful service (that is if I am to die for you), I will rejoice, and I want to share my joy with all of you. And you should be happy about this and rejoice with me.
Philippians 2:17-18

Father, I wonder if what we are involved in, what we are spending our lives doing…is it so good that we want to "share (our) joy with all of" our friends? We certainly don't think about that in regards to most jobs. I spent twelve years in the insurance business: it was not the kind of spending of life that caused me to want to "share my joy with all of" my friends. And yet, there are things that happen when we do want to "share (our) joy with all of" our friends. If we were to win the lottery, we would share that with friends. As a matter of fact, a lady just the other day was telling me about the $1,700 she won playing the lottery. She was excited to share that information with a total stranger.

And I ponder whether our relationship with You would lead us to want to "share (our) joy with all of" our friends? Sometimes we are excited about You, our faith, our church and what we are involved in. And at those times we do want to "share (our) joy." I thank You that You have called us to believe in You as our Lord and Savior. And I would simply pray and ask that in every way we are able to experience You in such a way that it would ignite us with the zeal to "share" You and the "joy" we experience in our relationship with You "with all" of our friends. Father, come fill us with Your passion. Fill us with zeal for You and Your Holy Spirit. Fill us with joy! Come Holy Spirit!

Thank You, Father, in Jesus name. Amen.

Love, Dad/Danny
