The Darkness Loses
Philippians 2:14-15, Devotional #2

In everything you do, stay away from complaining and arguing, so that no one can speak a word of blame against you. You are to live clean, innocent lives as children of God in a dark world full of crooked and perverse people. Let your lives shine brightly before them.
Philippians 2:14-15

Father, the world is full of a crooked and perverse people and we were once that kind of people. We, Your children, were at one time totally at home in this darkness and perverseness that is spoken about here. We even see it within the walls of the church. And what a great "call" to us to "live clean, innocent lives . . ." letting our "lives shine brightly before" others. I see that wonderful light shining bright in so many lives. It sparks me to live Your way even more so when the brothers and sisters around me shine so brightly.

You know that darkness can overcome the light only as the light is buried under some covering or totally snuffed out. One little spark can illuminate total darkness instantly. The dense thickness of dark within the depths of a cave is gone instantly with one little flame of light. The darkness can never comprehend light. The darkness can never win out over light.

Father, I thank You for that light that came into my world through Dave and Hal so many years ago. Those two guys were willing to live lives shining for You. Mo did that for Anna. May our "lives shine brightly before" our own families, our workmates, our schoolmates, our neighbors. May others see Your love and purity through our lives. Come Holy Spirit.

Thank You, Father. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Love, Dad/Danny
