Counselor - Independent Contractor (Part-Time)
Orchard Hill Church is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Part-Time Counselor (Independent Contractor) to provide faith-informed care to individuals, couples, and families within our community. We are especially interested in candidates with experience in trauma-informed care and adult counseling, who can support individuals navigating complex emotional and life challenges.
Role Overview
In this role, you will provide direct counseling services and operate with a high degree of independence, managing your own schedule and caseload. You’ll play a key role in supporting the church’s care ministry by offering professional, ethical, and compassionate counseling services.
Key Responsibilities
Provide counseling services to individuals, couples, and/or families
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with professional standards
Manage your own scheduling, client communication, and caseload
Uphold ethical and professional counseling practices
Provide trauma-informed care, recognizing and responding to the impact of trauma on clients
Integrate faith-informed perspectives into counseling when appropriate and desired by the client
Collaborate with church staff as needed to support client care, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (preferred)
Professional licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc.) preferred but not required
Experience in clinical and/or pastoral counseling settings is a plus
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage a private caseload
Commitment to ethical standards, confidentiality, and compassionate care
Experience and/or training in trauma-informed approaches (e.g., EMDR, TF-CBT, somatic approaches) is strongly preferred
Preferred Experience Areas
Trauma-informed care and experience working with individuals impacted by trauma
Adult individual counseling (including anxiety, depression, and life transitions)
Experience working with moderate clinical complexity
Substance use and recovery support (especially valued)
Family systems and relational dynamics
Women’s emotional and mental health
Schedule & Structure
Part-time, independent contractor role
Flexible scheduling based on your availability
Evening availability preferred to meet client demand
Opportunity to expand into daytime hours as caseload grows
Sessions may be conducted in person and/or virtually, depending on client needs

Compensation
Compensation is structured on a per-session basis (details to be discussed during the interview process), with referral support provided through the church.
